MUELLER FITTINGS CO. | Covington, TN

Mueller Fittings Company, Inc. was an original part of Mueller Brass Co. in Port Huron, Michigan. In 1976, the fitting operations were relocated to Covington, TN, which is now responsible for all domestic production of copper fittings. In 1992, Mueller Brass became the Mueller Copper Fittings Company and retains a prominent role within Mueller Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer and worldwide distributor of plumbing and refrigeration commodity flow control products. Today, Mueller Fittings produces more than 700 unique parts in nearly every combination with key volume coming from elbows, tees, couplings and adapters. The company’s products are known for their widespread use in plumbing applications.

Electrical Engineering Technician | Mueller Fittings Co. | Covington, TN

Perform automation system (PLC, safety, HMI, network) related functions, troubleshoot and resolve controls related issues, perform repairs and preventive maintenance on the plant automation as well as all equipment associated with it to help achieve plant’s business goals and objectives.

Assure reliability of equipment and to repair equipment in a safe, effective, efficient manner. Strive to elevate operational uptime through preventative and predictive maintenance activities with a focus on continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:

    • Implement, maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems based on all Allen Bradley platforms, Siemens and GE Fanuc platforms.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot machining equipment, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
    • Diagnose, maintain, and troubleshoot power and communication networks such as Devicenet, Profibus and Ethernet based systems.
    • Develop and maintain up-to-date operation manuals and electrical prints for all equipment.
    • Identify opportunities as related to safety, quality, and productivity.
    • Understand and assist with relational databases, Windows server technology, and IT networks/peripherals.
    • Maintains and repairs all electrical and electronic devices associated with equipment, machinery, or facility structure.
    • Program, troubleshoot and repair all electronic controls and industrial control systems on production equipment and facilities.
    • Interacts and provides guidance to management, in determining the best engineered solutions for efficient production of high quality products.
    • To service and repair programmable logic controls (PLCs).
    • Address downtime issues promptly and effectively.
    • Lead and/or participate with root cause analysis for operating problems including the identification of contributing causes for non-operating events and work to eliminate the root cause for continuous improvement.
    • Troubleshoot ProfiBus and EtherNZet communication control issues using diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications:

    • Electrical and PLC Aptitude
    • 2 year technical degrees or 5 years industrial work experience in relevant electrical field preferred
    • Ability to work in a Team environment

    • A record of stable & continuous employment
    • Self-motivated able to work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Must be able to meet attendance expectations
    • Able to read/interpret electrical/instrument drawings (single line, schematic, P&I, logic, loop)
    • Knowledge of PLC’s, distributive control (DCS) systems, electronic/pneumatic transmitters (flow, temperature, etc.), temperature/pressure switches, valve actuators/controllers/positioners, and analyzers
    • Knowledge of Fanuc robotics

Machine Operator | Mueller Fittings Co. | Covington, TN

Job Requirements:

    • Follows all safety policies and procedures
    • Wears proper PPE as required
    • Trained and uses various quality check tools, gauges, etc.
    • Understands and complies with quality procedures
    • Able to interpret part drawings, layouts and progressions
    • Keeps work area clean and organized
    • Independently loads and unloads product/raw material into machine
    • Replaces tooling components (punches, blades, inserts, etc.) as needed and makes adjustments
    • Performs basic changeovers within allotted time
    • Performs basic machine checks within allotted time
    • Documents downtime, production, box tickets, etc.
    • Interprets product specifications using method sheets
    • Meets daily production requirements
    • Adheres to break schedules
    • Notifies leadership of need for quality, maintenance or engineering support in a timely manner

Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician | Mueller Fittings Co. | Covington, TN

Essential Functions:

    • Repair/ install various components
    • Repair hydraulic pumps, valves and cylinders
    • Fabricate guards
    • Replace and wire electric motors and drives
    • Repair basic control wiring
    • Read electrical schematics and wire directly from wiring diagrams
    • Perform problem solving of electrical issues involving AB controllers and ladder logic diagrams, as well as FANUC controlled robotics.

Qualifications:

    • Applicant must have a two year mechanical/electrical technical degree or three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of Fanuc and Moto man controlled robotics
    • Proficient in troubleshooting Hydraulic and Pneumatics
    • Advanced computer skills – MP2 or other maintenance planning software preferred
